This week Demi left to rejoin the real world. Or at least the world outside of Camphill. Demi was the first established coworker I spoke to when I arrived, apart from people who lived in the same house as me. She gave Celine and I directions to the swim pond. We got lost. The directions she gave us weren’t difficult, Celine and I easily get lost. Now that I know most of the village I feel a little pathetic for not being able to find it. Demi helped me grow accustomed to life here in the pastoral parts of NY– accompanying me to the Farm Festival and suggesting places to visit like the Book Barn. Hopefully the next time she’s in NYC she can take me suggestion of going to the Life Cafe. Lastly I would like to mention that she is a damn fine vegetable gardener (still working on a better term than gardener) and she will be sorely missed here. Best of luck, Demi!
Demi’s sweetheart Westley also left this week. It was so great to meet him back in December after hearing so much about him from Demi. We both were working on hats (me = poorly knitting in the round, Westley = crocheting). I know I failed my hat experiment with flying colors, but I hope his project didn’t suffer the same fate. Best of luck to Westley as well!
