I thought I’d share a few of the fun resources I’ve stumbled across in my media immersion research– including others visiting the fictional world in real life. The linked names in the parentheses are Twitter handles. After all it is #FollowFriday.
Red Letter Media (@RedLetterMedia)
The video is a few years old at this point but they hit the important places of the Ghostbusters sites in Manhattan. They even got inside the firehouse where Ghostbusters filmed. I’m green with jealousy.
Trazzler (@Trazzler)
They’re a travel vignette site that is filled with user contributed short shorts on various locations they have specific blog posts on Beautiful Bookstores and literary travel.
Novel Destinations (@SMcKennaSchmidt)
I bought the book before I knew there was a blog. They’re both quite fabulous. If you’re a bibliophile, I highly recommend getting your hands on this book.
Movie Locations
This website got a really nice face lift since the last time I visited it (for locations in NYC). I believe this website goes good with my next recommendation.
On Location Vacations (@OLV)
A website devoted to catching movie stars at work gives the inside scoop on filming locations around the US for each day.
Scoutmob (@Scoutmob)
A few months ago Scoutmob (a daily deal site similar to Groupon, except you don’t have to pay for the deal) did a post on books that take place in Atlanta which made me all kinds of happy because I’d be asking around for Atlanta based reads.
