Harvest Spirits Distillery While I lived in rural New York last year one place I frequented, besides the Claverack Library, was Golden Harvest farm. I have an undeniable sweet tooth and warm cider donuts are one of my absolute favorites. This past week has been a weird one because I’m experiencing firsts and lasts as I’m preparing to leave. On Wednesday our house went to the New York State Museum in Albany. Alright on with my week. Last [...] This week saw several friends coming back from vacation. Eme came back on Tuesday and was back in the garden Wednesday afternoon. Zak and his family came back from vacation on Thursday night, and he was back in the garden on Friday. It was nice to have Zak back, but I was so excited [...] First Ripe Tomato I Found this season This week was eventful. Monday Puck’s two brothers and his mom came for a few days and they’re all quite lovely. Puck’s younger brother looks like a younger, skinnier version of Puck with longer dark brown hair. (Sorry Demi I didn’t take any pictures.) We also [...] Pretty, alien garlic flowers This week mostly buzzed by, at least for me. We started harvesting garlic for storage this week and I saw these flowers (pictured to the right) at the tops of some of the garlic. These are garlic flowers, I believe the purple are the seeds. On Tuesday I got to try my hand at flame weeding. I had been wanting to flame weed since both Puck and Req got to do it a month or [...] Sandwich contents: Chickpea patty, homemade pesto, avocado, lacinato kale, cheddar cheese, chickpea patty This week was the last week I cooked for the house during the week.
