I scoured the usual suspects for suggestions of where to go (Matador Network, BootsNAll, Novel Destinations and Trazzler). Although I never got lost, like I did on Monday, it was a definitely an adventure in randomness. I started off my day by visiting Orchard Corset Center. Don’t let the prices on the website fool you– from what I [...] Yesterday was a hodge podge of adventures. I went to the last day of BEA, walked around a bit and picked up quite a few books. I always want to list all the books I buy or get but I realize that for most people reading said list would be tedious and possibly annoying. [...] Yesterday went well. I arrived at the Javits around lunchtime. Walked the BEA floor a bit. Went to Seal Press (Miss Whatsit: Tales from the Expat Harem is published by them) and got a catalog of their upcoming releases. Other books published by them include Michelle Goodman‘s Anti 9 to 5 Guide and My [...] Photo of The Rickshaw Truck Today I fared much better than yesterday although I did lighten the load considerably. I reminded myself: I’m on vacation. The point is to not stress about what is going on and roll with the punches. With that attitude I had a great day. Found the Wafel truck [...] I had three sites I wanted to hit up but before I went on my grand adventures I bought ballet slippers because it’s a crazy idea to walk around in spiked heel boots. I didn’t make a better choice on walking shoes according to the blisters on the back of my heels but I [...] Rope Structure in one of Lake Taghkanic Park’s playgrounds This past Saturday was Miss Whatsit’s birthday and we celebrated in grand fashion at Lake Taghkanic’s State Park. Even though the youngest of our group was over 20, we still played on the playground like children.
